Girls Football at TFC

Trumpington FC is committed to increasing participation and provision for girls’ football. We provide a range of dedicated football programmes for girls of all abilities to have fun in a social, supportive environment.

All girls receive professional coaching to develop and improve skills to ensure they reach their full sporting potential.

We work in partnership with the FA and support their #LetGirlsPlay campaign, which aims to provide girls with equal access to football in schools and clubs by 2024.

If you would like to sign your child up to any of our girls’ programmes or would like more information please contact: girlsmembership@trumpingtonfc.com

Competitive Teams – Mixed and Girls-Only Teams

Girls can play in both mixed (Mini- and Colt- Cambridgeshire Leagues) or girls-only teams. In 2020 two girls-only teams were set up and now play in the Alan Boswell Group Cambridgeshire Girls and Women's Football League. In 2022 we have extended the number of girls-only teams and hope to continue to do this in the future.

Our teams provide a social, supportive and positive environment which encourages team-work, fitness, and builds self-confidence and skills. During the football season, matches are generally played on Saturday mornings and professional coaching is provided on week day evenings. Girls are provided with a development programme to ensure they can reach their full potential.

Trumpington Weetabix Wildcats Girls’ Football Centre

TFC hosts weekly Weetabix Wildcats sessions for girls aged 5 -11, at Trumpington Meadows Primary School.

The FA scheme was launched to inspire girls to get involved in football by providing girls with regular opportunities to play in a fun and engaging environment.

The sessions allow girls to make new friends, develop fundamental skills, try a variety of sessions and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport.

In 2022, Trumpington Football club expanded the sessions to include sessions for girls aged 11+. The sessions are suitable for beginners, those who wish to develop their football skills further or for players who wish to prepare for competitive playing in the future.

During the sessions girls receive professional coaching to increase skills and, for those who want to, prepare them to enter our competitive teams. Find out more about the Weetabix Wildcats
